The Frames Live At Whelans :: Chapter III

This is the first release from an album I have created, inspired by and dedicated to my beautiful wife Aideen. The Most Colourful Thread In The Loom, is an ode to the life we have woven together, and are yet to weave. The unpredictable nature of love and commitment, as an ever changing and evolving pattern. 17 years together, we've experienced extreme highs, and our share of lows but throughout it all, the fabric of the world we keep around us; our family, friends, neighbours, our house, our two adorable cats, the routines we keep, the hobbies we chose... have kept us close, warm and safe. Above all, our ability to make each other laugh, has never waivered. In this video, I think I've squeezed it all in there. The most personal and exposing video I'll ever create but an important starting point. The womb, the hearth, the crib where this need to sing enterred the world.
My neighbours Eddie and Elsie O'Brien from Dublin 8. This weekend is their 60th anniversary. An inspiration to all lovers. Married in a church on Harrington Street, they had their wedding reception in a hotel on Charlemount Street. The whole day cost just 14 euro. For their Honeymoon they stayed in Avoca in the Wicklow Mountains, and that weekend had a day they will never forget, walking mountain paths in the glorious sunshine from Avoca to the lush green slopes and shimmering waters of Glendalough. Today 60 years later, they'll walk hand in hand through the dappled sunlight streets of a Dublin waking up to summer, en route to meet their family for lunch. Most dapper. Most beautiful. "We've lived enough happiness for two life-times" Elsie tells me as they set off. Happy anniversary Eddie & Elsie. 🌞🌹💃🕺
Delighted to announce there will be another opportunity to see this great man on the big screen where he belongs, this Tuesday in the Irish Film Institute @irishfilminstitute Dublin. I'll be in attendance and together with @macdarayeates there will be some chats about the film after. Link to tickets in my Bio!
